Ohio: A Chillicothe Police officer and a male suspect were hospitalized following an officer-involved shooting early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on August 27 in the 300 block of East Main Street, according to police. One officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect, described as an African American mal,e was involved in the incident was also taken to Adena before being transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with serious injuries, including a gunshot woundto himself.

At the request of the Chillicothe Police Department, the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation.

NEW: A federal immigration officer was attacked and injured while trying to take a man into custody in Florida, according to local authorities.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the incident unfolded Tuesday morning in Lakeland.

Two Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers had followed Denis Corea Miranda, 21, because he had a warrant for deportation, according to the sheriff’s office.

The ICE officers chased after Miranda but said they lost him in the woods. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was then called to assist, launching a helicopter, drones and sending out K-9 teams.

The ICE officer who got into a fight with Miranda was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for a shoulder injury and is expected to recover.

Updates on the shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota:

The FBI is investigating this shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and hate crime targeting Catholics.

There were 2 fatalities, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old. In addition, 14 children and 3 adults were injured.

The shooter has been identified as Robin Westman, a male born as Robert Westman.

The FBI will continue to provide updates on our ongoing investigation with the public as we are able.

NEW: ICE ERO Houston arrested Gerardo Perez Rios, a previously deported criminal alien & child predator from Mexico, convicted of sexual indecency w/ a child in 2024. Perez was convicted of assault in 2014 and deported, only to illegally re-enter the U.S. and harm an innocent child.

JUST IN: A Maryland man who intentionally hit Montgomery County Police Sgt. Patrick Kepp at 100+ MPH was given a maximum sentence of 22 years and 60 days this afternoon.

In October 2023, 19-year-old Raphael Mayorga struck the sergeant, who was setting up spike strips outside of his cruiser on I-270.

Sergeant Kepp was listed in critical condition for several days & lost both legs as a result. Additionally, he needed 10 surgeries in eight months following the crash. He has miraculously since returned to work with the Montgomery County Police Department.

In his victim impact statement, Kepp told the judge that Mayorga will eventually get out of jail, but Kepp “is serving a life sentence,” because of his injuries.

Texas: HCSO deputies responded to a major crash scene at the 4200 blk of Fellows Rd  Cullen.

A police officer, riding a motorcycle, was seriously injured and is being transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The METRO Police Sgt is in serious, but stable condition, expected to survive his injuries.

Great work by Northern DRO's, along with support from our other DRO's, Patrol, PEACE, and investigative teams! On Tuesday, officers served a search warrant at a residence near 5th and ‘L’ Streets, as part of an investigation into illegal firearm sales. During the search, officers recovered:

🔹 Unregistered Firearm
🔹 Extended magazine
🔹 Ammunition
🔹 Gang-related paraphernalia

The suspect, a documented gang member, was taken into custody without incident and booked on multiple felony charges.

NEW: ICE Los Angeles HSI Integrated Operations Group arrested Juan Lopez-Vasquez, 40, of Mexico, Aug. 27. Lopez has been charged with DUIs, hit and run resulting in property damage, and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse. He is in ICE custody pending removal.
