A gang-related shooting left one man dead and another wounded at a South Los Angeles area strip mall just hours after a similar incident less than two miles away injured five.

DEVELOPING: An active shooter at has been reported at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with multiple casualties and dozens of injuries reported.

More details will be provided as they become available.

UPDATE: Police are reporting 20 victims. A man dressed in all black and armed with a rifle was reported at the scene.

EMS reporting they have transported 12 victims from the scene. At least two victims were reported deceased inside the church. Additional EMS units responding have been cancelled as they have plenty of resources in staging. A reunification point is being setup at this time. At this point there is no updates on whether police have located the shooter.

UPDATE: Shooter is dead.

ICYMI: Chicago Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Madison and LeClaire that was broadcast in real time on Facebook.

Officers located a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

UPDATE: Richfield Police Department reports 20 victims in Catholic elementary school mass shooting in Minneapolis.

"MINNEAPOLIS: 509 W 54th St, Annunciation Church – Police are responding to an active shooter call. Officers are reporting 20 victims. A man dressed in all black and armed with a rifle was reported at the scene. EMS has requested a Mass Casualty Response and fire crews are bringing in additional resources.

Initial information indicated the suspect shooter is no longer a threat. However, out of an abundance of caution, we have increased Richfield’s patrol staffing to provide additional resources in Richfield and assistance to Minneapolis."

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, retired VPD canine Ronin passed away at home, surrounded by his family. He was 11 years old. Ronin served VPD faithfully for eight years before retiring in May of 2024 to live with his handler, Patrolman P.E. Polsley.
