Charlie Fountain began his law enforcement career with the PCSO in an entry-level position in what was referred to as the radio room (now referred to as the Emergency Communications Center) in August 1975. In June 1976, after graduating from the Law Enforcement Academy at Polk Community College, he was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff.
