Arriving first on the scene, he found a rider gravely injured, bleeding heavily from a leg wound. Acting instantly, Jacquo applied a tourniquet, controlling the life-threatening bleeding until EMS arrived. His quick thinking saved the man’s life.

Tennessee: A Memphis Police officer and a vehicle theft suspect were injured in a crash early on Friday morning, police say. 

Memphis Police responded to a crash on Pope Street near Omar Robinson Street just before 3:30 a.m. According to police, a Kia Rio heading south on Pope collided with an MPD squad car that was traveling north.

Police say the collision caused the squad car to strike a tree and the handicap wheelchair ramp of a home on Pope Street. 

Memphis Police say both the officer and the driver received minor injuries and are currently in non-critical condition.

Investigators reportedly determined that the Kia involved in the crash had been reported stolen. The driver has been charged with theft of property, evading arrest, and curfew violation.

NEW: HSI Los Angeles and DEA LA arrested Hakmatullah Hajizada, 31, of Afghanistan, Aug. 19. Hajizada has been charged for vandalism, driving without a license, and assault on an officer. He is in ICE custody pending removal.

BREAKING: New York State Police say there are multiple fatalities, injuries and people still missing after a tour bus crashed on the thruway Friday.

A tragic accident occurred on Friday when a tour bus carrying around 50 passengers from Niagara Falls to New York City crashed into a ditch on Interstate-90 near Pembroke, New York.

According to state police, multiple fatalities have been confirmed, including children, while many others sustained serious injuries. Several passengers were trapped inside the wreckage, and some were thrown out of the bus during the rollover.

Emergency response teams rushed to the scene with ambulances and medical helicopters, transporting injured passengers to nearby hospitals. Officials said translators were brought in since many passengers were of Indian, Chinese, and Filipino origin.

The New York State Thruway was closed in both directions, causing major traffic disruptions.

Governor Kathy Hochul called the crash “tragic” and confirmed that her office is coordinating with police and local authorities. Attorney General Letitia James described the incident as “heartbreaking,” praising first responders for their swift action.
