Wisconsin: A Monona Police officer injured in a theft investigation turned vehicle and foot pursuit on Saturday.

Monona officers were assigned to a theft complaint around 8:00 p.m. Saturday, after a report from a retail establishment. Using a description of the individuals and a vehicle that fled the store, officials said they saw the car at a gas station nearby.

MOPD reports that after the car’s tires deflated, the driver and passenger leapt from the vehicle to flee on foot. However, the passenger caught a portion of the car and was temporarily dragged and run over by the driverless vehicle. Eventually, the passenger freed himself and began to run away from the officers.
Officials said they were able to capture both suspects, and they were taken into custody. The passenger suspect was taken to a local ER by an ambulance and had serious injuries.

An officer was also injured during the foot chase with a torn hamstring.

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for the officer's recovery.πŸ™πŸ»

BREAKING: The FBI has begun dispatching about 120 of its agents in overnight shifts to help local law enforcement prevent carjackings and violent crime in Washington, according to two people familiar with the matter, as President Donald Trump threatens a federal takeover of the nation’s capital.

Trump, who plans a news conference at the White House on Monday on this topic, compared the forthcoming action against D.C. crime to his administration’s aggressive crackdown against illegal immigration at the southern border, saying on Sunday that he plans to β€œimmediately clear out the city’s homeless population and take swift action against crime.”

UPDATE: A Baton Rouge Police officer remains listed in critical condition as of July 3rd after an β€œintentional, targeted hit” on the 23-year veteran of BRPD, Sgt. Caleb Eisworth. The latest update released on July 3 says his right foot needed to be amputated…
Baton Rouge Police Sergeant Caleb Eisworth passed away Sunday, August 10, at a Baton Rouge hospital.

He was critically injured on June 16, 2025 after police say a Baton Rouge man with a deep hatred for law enforcement intentionally rammed into Eisworth’s police motorcycle along Greenwell Springs Road as the sergeant was heading home from a shift.

BRPD Chief TJ Morse released the following statement:

"It is with profound sadness that I must share that our beloved Motors Officer, Sgt. Caleb Eisworth, died moments ago surrounded by loved ones.

Caleb was an amazing officer and a good man. He spent seven weeks fighting hard to overcome his injuries, but ultimately lost his battle today.

I ask that our community continue to lift the Eisworth family and the men and women of our Baton Rouge Police Department up in prayer."πŸ™πŸ»
