LAKE FOREST INCIDENT UPDATE:

Earlier today, Aug. 7, OC Sheriff personnel were notified a possible domestic incident that occurred yesterday in the city of Lake Forest.

Shortly before 3 p.m. today, deputies located the suspect at a retail store in the area of Trabuco and El Toro roads. When deputies attempted to take the suspect into custody, a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

A handgun was recovered at the scene, and the suspect was taken to the hospital, where he is in surgery.

A K-9 team responded to the area and, in an incident unrelated to the arrest or deputy-involved shooting, a deputy was bit by the K-9. The injured deputy is being treated at the hospital.

Several vehicles were involved in a Friday morning crash that left a New York State Trooper injured.

At 8:45 a.m. Friday State Police responded to the report of a crash involving a New York State Trooper on I-87 Thruway.

The Trooper was reportedly conducting a traffic stop at the time of the crash and was struck by a northbound vehicle. The Trooper was in the vehicle and the time of the crash and sustained what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

NEW: (Aug. 8, 2025) The Aurora Police Department announced Friday it has arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal hit and rush crash at East Colfax and I-225.

27-year-old Johandry De Los Santos Ruiz of Venezuela turned himself into police Thursday evening and was booked into the Aurora Detention Center on one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and additional charges are expected.

The charges stem from just before 10 p.m. Sunday when APD patrol officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run, auto-pedestrian crash on the westbound side of East Colfax Avenue at the northbound onramp for Interstate 225. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 47-year-old woman who was using a wheelchair to cross the road, was deceased upon arrival. Ruiz did not remain on scene after the crash.

Formal charges will be filed by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. This case is still active and ongoing.

Texas: A 59 Bounty Hunters gang member was captured thanks to quick work by deputies.  After they responded to a report of a stolen SUV,  it took just 85 minutes for them to recover the SUV, identify the suspect, and catch him at a motel where he hid in a cabinet. BREAKING OVERNIGHT: A four-alarm inferno ripped through the historic Congregation Beth El synagogue on Montross Avenue in Rutherford at around 3 a.m. Friday.

Fire crews from nearby towns battled massive flames and collapsing structure, hindered by live wires out front. The building was essentially destroyed.

The rabbi and his family of six escaped unharmed.

This location was previously targeted in a firebombing incident in January 2012, that involved Molotov cocktails.

Today's fire is under investigation and there is no further information at this time.

Bovino tells me record checks are revealing 30-40% of the illegal aliens they’re arresting at Home Depots have criminality beyond just being in the U.S. illegally, and they won’t look the other way on illegal aliens who don’t.
