WATCH: Mahmoud Khalil, a leader of the anti-Semitic protests that have rocked Columbia University, says "we" couldn't have avoided Hamas's Oct. 7 massacre.

"It felt frightening that we had to reach this moment in the Palestinian struggle," he said. "We couldn't avoid such a moment."

Later on, Khalil said the attack had to happen "to break the cycle," given that a "Saudi-Israel deal" was "very imminent."

Illinois: A motorcyclist is in critical condition after crashing into a police squad reportedly at a high rate of speed, leaving a police officer injured, in Barrington Hills Tuesday evening.

A Barrington Hills police officer was on duty around 11:33 p.m. Tuesday when his squad was involved in a crash with a motorcycle.

A preliminary investigation showed a 2013 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling northbound on Bartlett Road.

The Suzuki failed to negotiate the curve, struck a utility pole and then collided with the marked police squad.

The squad had been stopped at the time at the stop sign on Old Bartlett Road at the intersection with Bartlett Road.

An initial report indicated the officer was trapped in his patrol vehicle.

The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Walsh said the officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery.πŸ™πŸ»

When 55 local fire, EMS, and police departments need help, we step up!

High summer temperatures have depleted bottled water supplies for many first responders, especially at volunteer departments, who rely on the water to stay hydrated during extended incidents like structure fires. So, we partnered with Hart HVAC and Electric to make a plan. Together, we purchased 2,436 cases of bottled waterβ€”that’s 29 pallets worth (a full 18-wheeler + half of another 18-wheeler). 😳😳😳

David Hart and his team, along with our longtime partners at the LoKos Jeep Club Inc., are working tirelessly to distribute every case to the departments that need it.

We won't stop until every first responder in North Texas is healthy and hydrated. It's our way of saying thank you for everything you do. πŸ‘
