BREAKING: Former VP Kamala Harris is NOT running for California Governor.

Here’s her statement:

“Over the past six months, I have spent time reflecting on this moment in our nation’s history, and the best way for me to continue fighting for the American people and advancing the values and ideals I hold dear.

I am a devout public servant, and from the earliest days of my career, I have believed that the best way I could make a difference in people’s lives and fight for a better future was to improve the system from within. And it has been a profound honor to do that work and serve the people of California and our nation—as a prosecutor, Attorney General, United States Senator, and Vice President.

In recent months, I have given serious thought to asking the people of California for the privilege to serve as their Governor. I love this state, its people, and its promise. It is my home. But after deep reflection, I’ve decided that I will not run for Governor in this election. 

I have extraordinary admiration and respect for those who dedicate their lives to public service—service to their communities and to our nation. At the same time, we must recognize that our politics, our government, and our institutions have too often failed the American people, culminating in this moment of crisis. As we look ahead, we must be willing to pursue change through new methods and fresh thinking—committed to our same values and principles, but not bound by the same playbook. 

For now, my leadership—and public service—will not be in elected office. I look forward to getting back out and listening to the American people, helping elect Democrats across the nation who will fight fearlessly, and sharing more details in the months ahead about my own plans. 

In the United States of America, power must lie with the people. And We, the People must use our power to fight for freedom, opportunity, fairness, and the dignity of all. I will remain in that fight.”

BREAKING: A Colorado dentist was found guilty of methodically poisoning his wife to death.

Dr. James Toliver Craig, 47, a Colorado dentist, faces life in prison without parole after being found guilty Wednesday of first-degree murder for poisoning his wife, Angela Craig, along with multiple charges of solicitation to commit murder, perjury, and evidence tampering. He was found not guilty of manslaughter.

 Woodland Hills, California July 30th, 2025 Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas and five other defendants including a suspected high level member of an Israeli transnational organized crime group were arrested today on a federal indictment alleging they operated an illegal gambling business in which high-stakes poker games were played at an Encino mansion Arenas owned.

Arenas, 43, a.k.a. “Agent Zero,” of Woodland Hills, is charged with one count of conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business, one count of operating an illegal gambling business, and one count of making false statements to federal investigators.

Also charged in the indictment and arrested today in connection with the illegal gambling business charges are:

Yevgeni Gershman, 49, a.k.a. “Giora,” of Woodland Hills; a suspected organized crime figure from Israel
Evgenni Tourevski, 48, a.k.a. “Eugene,” of Tarzana
Allan Austria, 52, a.k.a. “Elica,” of West Hills
Yarin Cohen, 27, a.k.a. “YC,” of Tarzana
and Ievgen Krachun, 43, of Tarzana.

Each of these defendants is charged with one count of conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business and one count of operating an illegal gambling business. Their initial appearances and arraignments are scheduled for this afternoon in United States District Court in Los Angeles.

In redistricting fight against Texas, CA AG Rob Bonta said CALeg could draw the Congressional maps for Democrats and ask voters to approve them in a special election.

CALeg could be busy extra busy when they get back in a few weeks…

For context: Proposition 11 (passed in 2008) is a bipartisan board of members who determine the districts every 10 years based on census data. This proposal by Bonta is unconstitutional and would most likely not be held up in court. But win by any means necessary right? In Texas it’s largely left up to the legislature.
