Police in Georgia have come under fire after cell phone footage of two male officers pining and Tazing a young woman before turning on bystanders who tried to intervene went viral over the weekend. In response, the Tybee Island Police Department released body cam footage of the arrest on Tuesday hoping to set the record straight and discredit claims of police brutality. The altercation began with Olivia Jane Simons, 21, another girl, and a doorman of one of the island's bars, who were embroiled in a dispute regarding the girl's identification card. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Natural gas explosion in China. ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
A U.S. aircraft carrier has sailed through the disputed South China Sea in the latest show of America's military might amid new territorial conflict involving China, Vietnam, the Philippines and Taiwan. The South China Sea has been the subject of rising tensions between China and its smaller neighbors - and the U.S. said it would intervene and maintain the freedom of navigation operations in the disputed waters as China amped up its territorial claims. The patrol comes as Donald Trump claims he's winning the trade war against China after global shares fell sharply on Monday when China let its currency sink to an 11-year low against the dollar, fueling concerns that Beijing was using the yuan as a weapon.

China today carried out a large-scale anti-riot drill in a city bordering Hong Kong in an apparent warning to pro-democracy protesters in the Asian financial hub. The staged clash featured brick-hurling rioters played by actors as well as heavily armed police officers who used a new type of tear gas to disperse the on-coming fake protesters. The newly developed tear gas canisters are capable of dispersing a larger crowd in a bigger area, according to Chinese police. The exercise, branded as a counterterrorist mission, came a week after the chief of Chinese military in Hong Kong warned that his troops were ready to protect national sovereignty. Named 'Drawing Sword Action', the exercise involved 12,000 police officers, 50 armoured vehicles, 200 police vans, 1,200 police motorbikes, five helicopters, eight boats and two amphibious vehicles, the Shenzhen police said in a statement on social media. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Disturbing footage has been emerged online from protests in Hong Kong, showing a van accelerate into a crowd of anti-China demonstrators as tensions in the city reach boiling point. The footage out of Yuen Long on Tuesday shows the minivan ram through roadblocks, before knocking down at least one protester as the driver flees the scene. It's not clear what led to the incident, but comments on social media suggest there was an altercation between the van driver and protesters who were standing by the roadblocks. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Hong Kong police are set to start spraying liquid dye at crowds during potential future demonstrations to help them catch protesters who wear masks to conceal their identity. Once sprayed onto a person at a demonstration site, the liquid dye could stay on their skin or clothing, which would make it easier for the police to identify relevant individuals if necessary, the police said. Such liquid dye, said to be harmless and edible, could be added into water or tear gas solution, said a spokesperson. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The FBI has released dramatic video of an armed robbery in Philadelphia in a bid to help catch the perpetrators who fled the scene with bags of cash. The brazen heist took place at 10am last Thursday in the bustling University City neighborhood, and was captured by several surveillance cameras set up in the area. The heart-stopping footage begins with an armored Garda truck pulling up on Market Street to deposit cash into an ATM. Shortly after, two bandits can be seen pulling up behind the truck in a dark red SUV before they emerge from the vehicle and make their way to the cash machine. The men - clad in black hoodies and ski masks - then storm towards two Garda guards who are loading up the ATM. One of the thieves brandishes a large assault rifle, while the second suspect holds a handgun. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ #WANTED

Armed robbers broke into a Mexican government coin manufacturer on Tuesday and filled a backpack with more than $2 million worth of gold coins from a vault that had been left open, security officials said. The daylight robbery was the latest high-profile crime to hit Mexico City, where crime has increased during record lawlessness plaguing the country. Two people, one wielding a firearm, broke into a โ€œCasa de Monedaโ€ branch in the morning after throwing a security guard to the ground and taking his gun, Mexico City police said. One of the robbers then went to the vault, which was open, and filled a backpack with 1,567 gold coins, police said. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

An elderly Nebraska man has been booked on suspicion of criminal mischief after he was caught on camera attacking a cement truck with a hammer. Thomas Mailander, 70, was filmed doing damage to the mixer which was pouring concrete across the street from his home in Omaha last Thursday.
