Lieutenant Eddie Mays suffered a fatal heart attack while arresting a man during a domestic call on West Crumb Avenue in Bernie at 4:53 p.m.

The subject was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

Lieutenant Mays was a United States Air Force veteran and served with the Bernie Police Department, Missouri, for 30 years. He is survived by his wife, two children, and eight grandchildren.

Pennsylvania: A police officer was injured early Wednesday morning after two Lancaster city police cruisers collided while responding to a burglary.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of East Chestnut and North Lime streets next to Musser Park just before 1 a.m. for a report of a vehicle collision. Police said two cruisers collided, and one officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
