Today, we honor and remember Chaplain Bruce Bryan, lovingly known as the “Chaplain of the Hood.”
Bruce was a volunteer chaplain with Carson Sheriff’s Station, dedicating six years of service riding alongside deputies, visiting juvenile detention centers, comforting victims, mentoring youth, and providing guidance to those in need.
Tragically, on June 18, 1994, while on a ride-along, Chaplain Bruce Bryan was senselessly killed while helping someone in need.
Though gone far too soon, his legacy lives on. A plaque and portrait in our station remind us daily of his sacrifice, service, and the love he poured into our community.

I applaud today’s Supreme Court decision that allows states to protect vulnerable children from genital mutilation and other so-called “gender-affirming care” that leaves children permanently disfigured and scarred.
This Department of Justice will continue its fight to protect America’s children and parental rights. I encourage other states to follow Tennessee’s lead and enact similar legislation to protect our kids.
