Over eight days of civil unrest, LAPD made 561 arrests, with June 10 seeing the most with 225 in a single day. During the rioting and civil unrest, a dozen LAPD officers were injured, yet they continued to protect our city with professionalism and resolve. Charges included looting, assault of a law enforcement officer, curfew violations, and failure to disperse. As LA DA Nathan Hochman warned: “We will track you down. We will arrest you. We will prosecute you. And we will punish you.” Investigations into assaults on officers and members of the public, looting, vandalism, and other crimes will continue utilizing tools such as video.

Those responsible have been identified and were taken into custody.

Let us be clear: assaulting a police officer is a serious crime. It puts officers at risk and undermines our ability to protect our community.
