BREAKING: Columbia pro-Hamas student Mahmoud Khalil has posted his $1 million bond after a federal judge ruled the government must release him. Brooke Taylor
UPDATE: Columbia University student, Mahmoud Khalil, who led disruptive pro-Hamas riots on the Ivy League campus is set to be released today after a federal judge said he could no longer be detained and set his bond to just $1. Khalil has been held at an ICE detention center in Jena, Louisiana since March as the Trump Administration pushes for his deportation. The judge gave the government a 9:30 AM deadline to appeal the decision.
Mahmoud Khalil lawyers just shared this statement with me: βThe deadline has come and gone and Mahmoud Khalil must be released immediately. Anything further is an attempt to prolong his unconstitutional, arbitrary, and cruel detention."

Please, pray for the Sedgwick County Sheriff's deputy who was critically injured in the line of duty last night.ππ»
Kansas: A Sedgwick County Sheriffβs deputy was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle while working the scene of a prior crash near K-42 and Maize Road.
The Sedgwick County Sheriffβs Office said two deputies were investigating a two-vehicle, non-injury crash at about 9:30 p.m. when a black pickup, heading west on K-42, hit one of the deputies who was outside of his patrol car.
The sheriffβs office said the pickupβs driver cooperated at the scene. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances that led up to the pickup hitting the deputy. As of later Thursday night, that investigation was ongoing.
At the scene, Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter said what happened serves as a critical reminder to use caution around scenes that include a response from law enforcement or first responders working on the side of the road.
