Retired lieutenant from the DC Metropolitan PD, has been sentenced to serve 18 months in prison for allegedly lying to authorities about leaking confidential information to Enrique Tarrio, the former chairman of the Proud Boys.

BREAKING: Earlier this afternoon, Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a Pakistani citizen residing in Canada, was extradited to the United States on charges of attempting to provide material support to ISIS and attempting to commit acts of terrorism.

In the fall of last year, Khan allegedly planned to travel from Canada to New York and carry out a mass shooting in support of ISIS at a Jewish Center in Brooklyn.

Khan allegedly planned his attack to occur on October 7, 2024 — the one year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel.

Thankfully, the great work of FBI teams and our partners exposed those plans and shut them down — and Khan was arrested by Canadian authorities on September 4, 2024.

He has now arrived in the U.S. and will face American justice.

This case is a reminder of the constant threat of terrorism facing every corner of the world — as well as the disturbing rise in threats against our Jewish communities. Your FBI will continue to be on guard and work around the clock to counter them.

WATCH: Drone video shows aftermath of ethanol train derailment in Waxahachie, Texas.

Just before midnight last night, a train derailed in downtown Waxahachie near Monroe Street and Elm Street. It remains unclear how the derailment occurred, but sixteen of the 110 cars came off the tracks. The derailed cars were enclosed and contained ethanol, but crews on the scene have detected no spills or leaks. No injuries were reported.

Several roads are closed, and clean-up is expected to take all day, as train cars are slowly being moved to unblock roads. City officials will remain on scene as the clean-up occurs.

The Louisville Metro Police Department, Kentucky, sadly announced the death of Detective Michelle Rusch.

Michelle served for over 10 years. As a member of LMPD’s Crimes Against Children Unit, she spent her career fighting for those who couldn’t fight for themselves. In her final days, Michelle said she had two wishes, that she be remembered for all the good work she had done with the LMPD and that her family would be taken care of.

The Ocean City Police Department, Maryland, sadly announced the death of retired police K-9 Smoke, who died peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, surrounded by his handler, PFC Erika Rhode, along with her family and close friends.

K-9 Smoke served the Ocean City community with honor, loyalty, and distinction for seven years before retiring at the end of April.
