Angry bear is released from captivity. The 22-year-old bear had been captured and locked up after for breaking into chicken coups in the Whitefish Mountains, Montana, at night. Wildlife biologists believed that he may have been the same bear which recently killed a mountain biker. But tests of the grizzly's microchip and DNA found that he was not responsible for the deadly human attack and warranted his release. ๐Ÿป
North Korea has bragged of testing a new rocket system which Kim Jong-un said will be 'an inescapable distress to the forces becoming a fat target of the weapon.' State-run media said the North's latest test-launch, which took place Wednesday, was of a 'newly-developed large-calibre multiple launch guided rocket system'. The Hermit Kingdom said the weapon 'will play a main role in ground military operations' and boasted that it was combat-ready. North Korea released images of the new weapon, but delayed them in an unusual move while they pixellated the ground launcher in an apparent attempt to hide its exact specifications. ๐Ÿš€

Nasa's planet spotting telescope has uncovered another three planets, which scientists say include the first nearby super-Earth spotted by TESS that could be habitable. The planet, called GJ 357 d, orbits a star around 31 light years away in the so-called habitable zone, an area far enough from its star to not be too hot but close enough to not be too cold. In this region, it is possible for liquid water to exist on the surface of a planet if it is rocky, although further research is needed to work out whether GJ 357 d's atmosphere is dense and warm enough to host liquid water. The news comes just days after three new planets were found in a star system just 73 light years away from Earth โ€” including two planets that may be 'missing links' in planetary formation.

The chief of Chinese military in Hong Kong has warned that his troops are determined to safeguard national sovereignty in his first response to the city's ongoing protests, which have entered the eighth week and left the financial hub in turmoil. Chen Daoxiang, the commander of the People's Liberation Army's Hong Kong garrison, added that the unrest should not be tolerated and his 'heroic' troops resolutely support Hong Kong police 'to enforce law strictly and justly'. The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) also released a propaganda video, which shows heavily armed soldiers carrying out a series of live-fire anti-riot drills featuring tanks, huge cannons, attack helicopters and missiles. An accompanying post said soldiers were 'preparing for war'.
