UPDATE: An Apache Junction police officer is in critical condition and a suspect also injured after a shooting this morning near Ironwood Drive and Elliot Road.

When officers arrived at the location, a man exited his vehicle and started walking away with a gun.

Officers reportedly followed the man on foot while giving commands to stop. The suspect did not react or respond.

Officials say officers then deployed "less lethal ammo" attempts.

The suspect fired at officers and officers fired back. The suspect, a 37-year-old man, was struck and taken to a hospital.

One officer was shot and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officials say the officer was struck in the upper torso area and remains in critical condition.

Texas: The El Paso Police Department's Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating a shooting that involved an officer.

El Paso Police just identified the man who died as Salvador Valdiviezo, 35.

Police officials say that Valdiviezo started firing toward officers shortly after they arrived at the house on Passo Via Street.

"Both officers returned fire and Valdiviezo was struck several times, he was transported to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

One officer received a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition."

Dyno, a Belgian Tervuren, honorably served the citizens of Colorado from 2013 to 2019. Trained in drug detection and patrol apprehension/protection, Dyno completed just under 1,000 hours of specialized training and was deployed approximately 320 times during his career.

Florida: Deputy Injured in Altercation, Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Winter Haven.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a deputy-involved shooting that occurred this afternoon at the Sunoco store at 1502 Recker Hwy, near Ave. O SW, in Winter Haven. Nobody was injured due to gunfire.

At approximately 2:45 pm on Monday, June 2, 2025, PCSO deputies attempted to arrest a documented gang member who was in possession of a trafficking amount of methamphetamine in front of the Sunoco.The suspect fled in a vehicle, crashed into multiple law enforcement vehicles, and forced a deputy to the ground, injuring him in the process. A deputy fired several shots at the suspect, striking the suspect’s vehicle, but the suspect was not hit.

“The suspect had a blatant disregard for the safety of others. A very dangerous drug dealer is now where he belongs in the Polk County Jail. Fortunately, our deputy was not seriously injured and is expected to make afull recovery.” – Grady Judd, Sheriff.
