BREAKING: Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano erupts with 1,000-foot 'lava fountaining'.

Kīlauea Volcano – located along the southeastern shore of Hawaii Island – experienced "lava fountaining" that reached at least 1,000 feet high over the weekend. 

UPDATE: A 33-year-old man has been arrested after firing at Akron police during an incident late Sunday night.

Police say it was around 11:23 p.m. when they responded to a call for a welfare check on Grant Street when they heard gunshots nearby.

Moments later, officers responded to the scene in the 400 block of Sherman Street to investigate.

“As officers were approaching, they encountered a male armed with a firearm running out of an apartment,” according to a press release from Akron police. “The suspect began shooting, causing the officers to return fire as they took cover.”
