UPDATE: A suspect has died following a shootout with officers on a Nashville bridge Monday morning, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Tennessee.

The 29-year-old suspect was accused of shooting a Nashville Rescue Mission staff member multiple times Sunday afternoon.

One officer was grazed on the leg during the shootout. MNPD said the suspect was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries and later died. The officer was later identified as Clayton Lewis, a 9-year veteran of MNPD.

BREAKING: A woman was arrested Monday after attempting to drive through the entrance of the Hastings Keith Federal Building in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and trying to set an American flag on fire using gasoline, according to police.

Police say Jennifer Padilla, 26, tried entering the building with an American flag and gasoline, which she poured on the flag and tried to light it on fire.

Officials say the building sustained minor damage and one security officer was struck but not injured.

Padilla faces several charges, including assault by means of a dangerous weapon, destruction of property, and attempted arson.

Statement from Mayor Jon Mitchell: “I am relieved that no one was seriously injured in this morning’s incident at the Hastings Keith Federal Building, and I am grateful for the swift and skillful response by the New Bedford Police Department. While it appears to be an isolated incident, it is a reminder of the need for appropriate security protocols at public facilities.”

ICE officers even offered to move the vehicle to a better location. Additionally, ICE allowed Mandujano to make a telephone call to ensure the vehicle and his son arrived safely back at his home.

Albino Teodores Mandujano’s criminal record includes a conviction for fighting in a public place and an arrest for driving under the influence. This individual entered our country illegal at least THREE times.
