Boise’s Democratic Mayor Lauren McLean and the City Council openly opposed it, passing a resolution on May 7, 2025, to make the Pride flag an “official city flag”—a clear workaround to keep flying it. Idaho AG Raúl Labrador sent a warning letter, but the law lacks enforcement, so Boise isn’t backing down. X users are outraged, accusing Democrats of pushing an LGBTQ agenda, disregarding state law, and bringing progressive California influence to Idaho.
