China tells the US to remove its 'black hands' from Hong Kong after Washington expressed concerns over the 'erosion' of the city's autonomy amid violent attacks on protesters. China accused US officials of being behind violent protests in Hong Kong and advised them to remove their 'black hands' from the territory. Beijing's main office in the city was vandalised on Sunday. 'We can see that US officials are even behind such incidents,' said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying at a regular press briefing on Tuesday when asked about the protests. 'So can the officials tell the world what role did they play and what are their aims?' Hua asked.

A Houston robber fired his gun six times at bulletproof glass in a botched attempt to steal from a store's cash register, CCTV footage shows. An unidentified man entered an Exxon store in Houston at 3:58 am on Sunday, July 14. He pulled out his gun and demanded the shop keeper to hand over money from the cash register, which was protected by bulletproof glass. The clerk refused to cooperate with the suspect and began to call the police. The armed man grew frustrated and proceeded to fire his gun a total of six times at the glass panel in an attempt to gain access. The glass shattered but did not break. Defeated, the suspect then walks out of the door empty-handed. Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department's Robbery Division are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect, offering a reward of up to $5,000 for anyone with information. ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ#wanted #losers

Multiple videos have been circulating on social media that show groups of teenagers splashing officers and other New Yorkers with gallons of water. Groups of young people were caught on camera over the weekend dumping buckets of water onto New York City officers.โฆ
Cellphone videos of people brazenly dousing uniformed New York Police Department patrolmen with water have sparked outrage and led police officials to urge the force not to tolerate the behavior. At a police event Tuesday, NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan said the department wants to make arrests in both cases but drew a sharp distinction between them. He described one as a potential assault on an officer doing his duty and the other a failure of officers to respond to a clear provocation. ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ #NYPD

Mueller was set to be sworn in 90 minutes later for the first of two hearings before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees, both helmed by the Democrats he blames for his years-long predicament. Long lines of press, Capitol Hill staffers and ordinary gawkers lined up outside hearing room in the Rayburn House Office Building where Mueller will, he hopes, close the book on his lengthy probe into Russia's interference with the 2016 presidential election. Some lined up outside the building to get through security screening. Some had been there all night. Trump has long claimed to be the victim of a 'witch hunt.' Mueller's charge was to investigate possible collusion between Russia and Trump's campaign. He ultimately examined a second, thornier question: whether Trump obstructed justice by trying to stymie the federal probe. He found no evidence of collusion, but left the obstruction question open.
