NEW: The Texas Health and Human Services Commission released data showing that in November 2024, Texas hospitals spent $121.8 million in health care costs for illegal aliens.

That is just during one month. Earlier this year, Gov. Abbott signed an executive order requiring hospitals to ask patients about their legal status then share this data and report annually.  Hospitals around the state were expected to turn in their first months of data by March 1 and HHS says future reports will include full quarterly data.

Florida was the first state to do this—  last month, a report showed the state paid nearly $660 million in 2024 for health care costs for illegal aliens.
