The trooper and the other person were left with minor injuries. The driver was also injured and taken to hospital.

DUI Arrest Leads to Power Outage in Buckhannon, WV
On Monday morning, April 7, 2025, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash that caused a significant power outage in the area. The suspect, Joshua Paul Woods, drove his vehicle off the road at a high rate of speed, hitting a tree, multiple mailboxes, a fence, and a power pole before coming to rest on power lines.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, but the crash caused a major disruption in power throughout the area. Woods was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Let this be a reminder: #DontDrinkAndDrive. The consequences are severe and can impact entire communities.

California: An accidental shooting at the Lassen County Superior Court left a law enforcement officer injured on Friday afternoon.
The Lassen County Dispatch Center received a 911 call about the incident at approximately 4 p.m.
Upon arrival, sheriff's office personnel discovered the officer had sustained a leg injury from an accidental gunshot wound. The officer was transported to a hospital outside the area with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
