During the track, CBP AMO assisted our K9s by flying them to close the distance on the group they were tracking. The eight illegal aliens were referred to USBP.

Los Angeles: On March 3, 2025, at approximately 3:58 p.m., the mother of the suspect, later identified as Hector Alaniz, called 911 to report that her son was suffering from mental illness and may be a danger to others.

Both Rampart and Northeast Patrol Division officers responded to her location, at the 2400 block of Bellevue Avenue. As resources arrived at the location, an additional family member of the suspect directed officers to Alaniz. As officers approached Alaniz they gave him verbal commands to surrender. Alaniz instead fled the location, leading officers on a short foot pursuit eastbound Bellevue Avenue from Coronado Street.

Alaniz was armed with what appeared to be a black pistol. As Alaniz entered a driveway at the 2400 block of Bellevue Avenue, he turned and pointed the pistol at officers resulting in the discharge of a 40mm Less-Lethal Launcher (LLL) and an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) occurred. Alaniz then fled on foot resulting in a second discharge of a 40mm LLL. Despite the suspect being struck by both gunfire and 40mm LLL projectiles, he again continued to flee until an officer discharged a TASER, incapacitating Alaniz, allowing officers to take him into custody without further incident.

Alaniz was transported by a Los Angeles Fire Department rescue ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his right arm. No officers or other community members were injured during this incident. A black airsoft gun resembling a Glock semiautomatic pistol was recovered at the scene of the OIS and booked as evidence.

Chicago: A Venezuelan migrant is charged with robbing a woman at gunpoint in Streeterville.

It's his sixth arrest in 13 months. Prosecutors have dropped four of his other cases, including one just three days before the alleged robbery.

NEW: ICE Baltimore says the sanctuary county of Prince George's County in Maryland ignored their detainer request and released a 2x previously deported Guatemalan illegal alien alleged murderer into the community. 32-year-old Rene Pop-Chub is facing pending murder charges in Prince George's County, but ICE says he was released from local custody last Tuesday with no cooperation or notification. ICE Baltimore found him and arrested him in Hyattsville, MD, on Saturday.

@EROBaltimore is blasting the sanctuary jurisdiction of Prince George's County in a statement:

“When jurisdictions refuse to honor our immigration detainers, they put their own communities at risk — as was the case here, where a dangerous illegal alien charged with murder and assault was released back onto the streets. Thanks to the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our officers, this individual has been taken back into custody. Their work ensures that he will now face justice and will no longer pose a threat to public safety in Maryland.”
