"This week we bid farewell to Sergeant Curtis English, Detective Jason Kloehn, Officer Scott Hale-Byron, Administration Division Manager Sheila Lichius-Ill, and Records Supervisor Delpha Rizzuto as they start their next chapter of retirement!

Sergeant English has been with the Sparks Police Department, Nevada, for 23 years. In that time, he has worked in patrol, Academy Staff Officer, General Assignment Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, and leader of our Horse Mounted Unit (HMU). Sergeant English has been on HMU for 22 years and will retire with Oscar, a Quarter Horse. Prior to SPD, Sergeant English served with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office for 2 years.

Detective Jason Kloehn has been with the Sparks Police Department for over 21 years. In that time, he has worked in patrol as a Field Training Officer (FTO), as a Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART) officer, Crime Prevention Officer, General Assignment Detective, and as one our department polygraphers.

Officer Scott Hale-Byron has been with the Sparks Police Department for 23 years. In that time, he worked in patrol as a Master Field Training Officer (FTO), Honor Guard Team, Lead EVOC Instructor, Drug Recognition Expert, and an original member of our Neighborhood Police Unit (NPU).

Sheila Lichius-Ill has been with Sparks Police for 26 years, and Delpha Rizzuto has been with us for 20 years.
