The San Leandro Police K9 Association sadly announced the death of retired Police K9 Waylon, who left us on March 11, 2025. Waylon served proudly alongside his handler, Retired Officer Bacon, from 2016 to 2019.

Louisiana: A sheriff’s deputy and three other first responders were injured while working near the scene of an oil well fire in Livonia early Monday afternoon.

Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Renee Thibodeaux says a person driving a vehicle on Highway 190 ran into a fire truck and then hit the deputy.

The deputy was directing traffic at the time because the large number of emergency vehicles on the roadway due to the fire.

The first responders who were hurt were near the fire truck, the sheriff said. The deputy was rushed to a hospital in Baton Rouge. The deputy’s condition is not known.
