High society diners are drenched in torrential downpour from Tropical Storm Barry as New York's exclusive 'Diner En Blanc' descends into chaos. The event, which sees thousands of revellers don white outfits for an al fresco dining experience, takes place in a different location each year and was held in the city's famous Battery Park. But the 5,000-strong contingent of guests were forced to do battle with the element as they stepped out to attend the glitzy dinner. ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
A Connecticut man has been arrested on suspicion of abducting and sexually assaulted 12-year-old girl after DNA from cigarette butts linked him to the crime. Police from Webster, Massachusetts, arrested Joshua Besaw, 35, of Thompson, Connecticut, at his home on Wednesday morning after a two-month investigation. The arrest came after DNA traces from cigarette butts he dropped, gathered by detectives tailing him, matched a sample taken from the victim.๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
The Central Processing Center in McAllen, Texas, colloquially known as Ursula for its street address, is a retrofitted warehouse that can hold more than 1,000 people for Customs and Border Protection processing. The facility gained notoriety last year, when photos showed the 77,000 square-foot building crammed with children sleeping on the floor amid the child separation uproar. Now, cameras for CBS News have been given unlimited access to the facility, where migrants reported sanitary conditions and ample hot meals for the 815 families currently being held there.
Shocking reality of life with a drug addict mother: Idaho girl, 17, raised in squalor shares horrifying photos of babies lying in filth and rooms strewn with needles and broken glass. The Idaho teenager posted the devastating family album on Reddit alongside details of the squalor endured by herself and her four siblings. One shocking image shows the girl, now 17, aged approximately 18 months, lying on a filthy bed in a room with needles on the windowsill. Another snap shows one of the girl's then toddler sisters climbing over a room covered in trash.๐Ÿ˜ฑ #reddit
