Grandparents in America are increasingly having to step up and raise their grandchildren because their own kids are in the grip of opioid addiction, according to U.S. Census data. Researchers found a correlation between the states with the higher rates of opioid prescription and those with high rates of grandparents caring for the next generation – revealing a new layer to the complex crisis that was declared a national emergency. 😱💉

On a Saturday morning in August 2015, Mayor #BillDeBlasio was in the back seat of a black #NYPD Chevy Tahoe bound for an event in #Harlem when a driver changing lanes slammed into his ride.

No one was hurt, but the commanding officer of the mayor’s executive protection unit, Howard Redmond, was furious. Text messages show he immediately ordered the incident be covered up to protect de Blasio’s image.

“As per CO [the commanding officer] no one is to know about this,” Sgt. Jerry Ioveno texted members of the unit, referring to Redmond. “Not even the other teams.”

“No one is to know,” he repeated.

Ron Daniel stopped at Burger King in central Arkansas when he realized a propane tank was leaking. As soon as he went to investigate the tank set on fire resulting in a small blaze. Breaking news! ⚠️ Heavy gunfire was heard near La Carlota airbase in the Venezuelan capital Caracas on Tuesday, after opposition leader Juan Guaido announced the start of an armed uprising against President Maduro. The Indian Army took to Twitter on Monday to share with its 5.9 million followers the discovery of what they described as footprints (left, right and inset) made by an 'abominable snowman' at the Makalu Base Camp in the Himalayas.
