Found a very nice letter of appreciation with included stickers from Glass in my mailbox.

This is currently the hottest week in the history of the Netherlands. It was around 38℃ yesterday and 34℃ today. I took this picture of courgette/zuccini in my garden during the day, and later this night, giant ice balls killed most of the plants there during the hail. Nature is nuts!

Here is a 1-hour interview with Jean-Michel Jarre recorded shortly after the release of his now-legendary 1984 album Zoolook, in which he explains how he created its absolutely unique sound. It’s surprising that everything he says still sounds so modern and relevant, even though the interview was recorded 4 years before I was born. Also, I’ve never heard about Fairlight CMI before, such a beast machine!

Camera Thrift Finds in Huizen

Here’s a little story about walking into a Dutch thrift store with no expectations and biking home with a backpack full of other people’s cameras.

Panasonic Lumix S 2/40 Review

My Sigma fp L had been sitting on a shelf for a while. All the lens I have are bigger and heavier than the camera itself, which rather defeats the point of this small camera.

I was about to settle for a Viltrox pancake when Panasonic announced the new Lumix S 2/40. I waited for it to reach my country, ordered it immediately, and it turned out to be exactly the lens I’d been describing to myself: small, sharp, fast enough, and not expensive. fp L is back around my neck now.

I wrote a little review with tons of pictures inside, check it out!

I was inspired by the Sigma fp builds of Japanese photographers in social media and decided to pimp my own fp L.

Just received Kaktus VSM adapter for straps, it looks and feels as if it came with fp!

Also, Urth’s metal magnetic lens caps are top as always.

I recently got this Panagor 80–200mm zoom lens from the 1980s with constant aperture 3.8 and adapted it for my cameras using a Minolta MD-to-L-mount adapter made by Urth. Aside from a severe pincushion distortion (which I had to correct), it produces pretty nice pictures.

My typical first pass at culling photos after a walk with Otis. After the initial selection, I quickly edit the first batch to see which images have the most potential, then narrow it down even further for more careful editing. Those are the ones that get published.

I completely forgot to mention that, together with the latest update to my website, I added virtual shelves with (most of) my photography gear, if you’re curious:
