🆕 Group Video Calls and Animated Backgrounds

Group Video Calls
• Start video conferences from Voice Chats in any group.
• Share your screen or video from your camera with up to 30 participants (limit to be increased soon).
• Talk without video with an unlimited number of participants.
• Create voice chats from the ⋮ menu in the profile of any group where you are an admin.
• Group video calls are supported natively on all devices, including iPad, tablets and laptops.

Animated Backgrounds
• Meet animated backgrounds for chats – first time in a messaging app! These multi-color gradient backgrounds are generated algorithmically and move beautifully every time you send a message.
• Create your own backgrounds in Chat Settings by selecting unique combinations of colors and applying any of the dozens of patterns.
• Share your animated backgrounds with friends and family to upgrade them to a new level of messaging experience.
• Choose between dozens of new gorgeous animated backgrounds in Chat Settings > Change Chat Background.
• On iOS, backgrounds are now partially visible through the header and the footer in chats, giving the interface a classy new look.

Message Sending Animations
• Send messages with improved animations – stickers and animated emoji fly into the chat from the sticker panel.
• On iOS, this also applies to media you send from the attachment panel, and even text messages. Your input text smoothly transforms into the message bubble as it flies into the chat.

2-Step Verification Reminders
• You will now receive a notification from Telegram each time your 2-Step Verification settings are changed.

Bot Menu
• We made it easier to communicate with bots, adding a special menu button that lets you browse and send commands. Bots can also change the placeholder in the input field to give you a better idea of what kind of message they are expecting.

Importing Stickers
• The @stickers bot can help you create new sticker packs as well as get usage stats for your stickers.
• Today we're giving third-party developers the tools to make apps that help people generate new custom unique stickers and import their creations to Telegram in one tap.

New in iOS
• More app icons. Change your app icon to one of the new gradient logos (Aqua and Sunset) in Settings > Appearance.
• Login Info Reminders. Confirm that your phone number is up to date from the new prompt in Settings.
• Telegram Features button at the bottom of the Settings menu, which opens the @TelegramTips channel.

New in Telegram Desktop
• Added ability to mix together bold, italic and other formatting.
• Optimized video playback in media viewer and Picture-in-Picture on Windows and Linux.
• Added integration with System Media Transport Controls on Windows 10.
• Added "Archive Sticker" into the "..." menu of the Sticker Set Box

Group Video Calls

Today's update lets you turn on your camera or share your screen during Voice Chats in groups – on all devices, including tablets and desktops. This brings voice chats to a whole new level, ready for online classes, business meetings and family gatherings.
