*TIFU by admitting to my female best friend I took a glimpse at one of her tits*

I am a straight male, to clarify. She and I are the same age too. Yesterday we went out to a park to pass the time along with some other people. My female best friend was also there. She had a buttonless shirt that if placed right and you were on the right spot you could get a glimpse of either tits. Then there came a time she asked me to come over to wach something on her phone, and then I noticed that her breasts were probably bra-less. So I egregiously tried to confirm it by, well, taking a glimpse of one of her tits. She noticed but brushed it off playfully and jokingly and nothing else happened for a couple of hours. I didn't apologize in the moment. A couple of hours go by and I'm feeling guilty, so I text her admitting it was creepy and inappropriate of me. She said she didn't even remember that had happened, that it was no big deal and that it was OK. Today we got into an argument (unrelated subject) and then she brought up the aforementioned incident. Told me she's grossed out, never believed me capable of doing that, and that she was now uncomfortable with me. I told her words felt short to express how sorry I was and how much I regretted my actions and that it was indeed gross. Nevertheless, she told me things will not be the same as before and that she's unsure I don't have any sexual intentions with her. She's supposedly not mad, she's just grossed out. Also told me she doesn't want any physical contact with me. Told her it was OK and understandable. Never tried to justify my actions. We agreed on acting normally as if nothing ever happened, except that I kept my distance. I agreed. I'm in total panic and don't know how to deal with this situation or how to make it better. TL;DR I admitted to my female best friend that I had in fact taken a glimpse at one of her tits. She got deeply disappointed with me and made it clear our relationship will change. submitted by /u/Out_In_The_Tiles to r/tifu [link] [comments]

*'Buy now, pay later' made its way to the grocery store, and the trend is likely to continue in 2024*

During the 2023 holiday season, Americans made more than $17 billion in purchases using a "buy now, pay later" option. Vivek Pandya, lead analyst at Adobe Digital Insights, joined with TheStreet to discuss why "buy now, pay later" purchases are becoming more and more popular, as well as what kinds of items consumers are buying with BNPL.Related: Major grocery chain makes move that could inconvenience many shoppersFull Video Transcript Below: J.D. DURKIN: So lately we've seen purchases using 'buy now pay later' skyrocket. It's very popular to use that method of payment. What's behind the surge? VIVEK PANDYA: Well, there's a couple of different reasons we're seeing the uptick. So 'buy now, pay later' over the holiday season, we saw about $17 billion in spend, and that's almost $75 billion through the year. And it's really being driven by consumers being in a more strained financial position and then seeing a sort of interest free way to buy goods, especially for things like the holiday season. And then being enticed to do it. And we're also seeing integrations across a lot of different mobile apps, a lot of different retail endpoints in order to support 'buy now, pay later,' especially at a time where consumers are looking to, you know, buy different things, buy higher ticket items, but then have it broken up into installment payments. J.D. DURKIN: And which categories are seeing the biggest increase in 'buy now. pay later' purchases? Are you seeing kind of similar trends as people use that? VIVEK PANDYA: Surprisingly enough, we've seen upticks across categories like electronics and apparel, but also grocery. So a lot of upticks on the bigger ticket items. And when you think about things like grocery, those prices are continuing to tick up, even though the growth of those price increases have slowed quite a bit. We're still seeing food prices be quite elevated. And then when consumers buy groceries online, they're really trying to get efficiency out of shipping and things like that. So then all of a sudden the grocery order can get up to about $500 as much as that. So then all of a sudden they start leaning on 'buy now, pay later.'
