*Threw a birthday party for our 10 year old….*

Maybe I’m being too sensitive. But please let me know your thoughts. So we planned a birthday party for our son. We invited all the kids in his class. Asked parents to RSVP because the place we were doing the party at requires all the kids be prepaid and no refunds. It cost my wife and I, $30 a kid plus prepaid food/drinks. So we wanted to make sure people rsvp and our money doesn’t get wasted. 10 parents rsvp by email saying they would be there and to secure their child’s spot. I paid for the party in full. Sent reminder emails out so nobody would forget etc. Today we were all so excited. Party starts and 5 kids don’t show up. No email. Nothing. Not even a reply back from the email reminder we did yesterday and this morning. So we paid for 5 kids that didn’t show. Smh. $150 plus money for the pizza and drinks wasted. No email. No call. No sorry we ghosted the party. Nothing. Also, one of this kids that did show up. His mom brought him in. Didn’t say anything to my wife and I at all. (The other parents were very social). She leaves her son with us at the party. No gift. No card. Nothing. Then when the party is close to ending. She comes in. Gets her son and leaves. No hello, goodbye. No Thank you. Nothing. What is wrong with people. We aren’t materialistic people at all.
