Throwaway so I don’t get identified too easily. I suffer from a handful of mental issues + autism, so it’s safe to say my ability to socialize and stay present is horrible, which leads to me being disliked a lot of the time because I suck at expressing myself/dissociate too much to acknowledge when people are talking to me. I have really bad social anxiety and cptsd on top of that so I don’t talk much at all. I’m always afraid of coming off as mean or rude to people, but never have the words to explain myself for being the way that I am. My life outside of work and just being me in general makes me hate existing so much, but I feel a bit better this week. This Christmas was the first in almost a decade that I’ve received any gifts, and all from my coworkers who I was so afraid of letting down because of my inability to express how much I love them. I don’t really care about the gifts, but moreso the fact that so many people though enough about little old me! I’m happy to know that the way that I show others I care about them is working and hope they truly know how much they mean to me, even though I have trouble showing it sometimes. I continue to struggle daily with perception of reality and being scared that deep down maybe it’s just basic kindness and I’m not really loved after all, but it has definitely given me a new way of thinking and motivation to try harder instead of giving up completely on humans.
