*AITAH for refusing to reduce how much I talk to my mum*
I live with my girlfriend and we live in a different town to my mum. It's not too far but you still need a full day free to actually travel there to visit. Because of this I don't get to see my mum that often. My father passed away years ago and my mum has also lost 2 children in the last 5 years so I am her only living child. She lives on her own and doesn't have a lot of people nearby apart from her sisters. I will often phone my mum a few times a day either to just catch up or to tell her something that has happened. I don't like the thought of her just sitting on her own all day. I will often phone her 5 times a day and at the weekend my girlfriend asked to talk to me. She said she thinks I phone my mum too much and she thinks I should reduce the amount I do it. I asked why she thinks that and she just said it's weird the amount I phone her and that it's too excessive. I disagreed with her and told her it's not excessive at all. She got annoyed and accused me of not listening to her or considering what she is asking. I told her there's nothing to consider and that I'm not reducing how much I talk to my mum just because my gf thinks it's too much. She said I was completely disregarding her feelings and being unfair. AITA for refusing to reduce how much I talk to my mum? submitted by /u/Alarming_Music_9149 to r/AITAH [link] [comments]

*Goldman sharply shifts stocks forecast after Fed's policy pivot*
The Federal Reserve’s pivot last week to an easier monetary policy made many investors more bullish toward stocks. You can count Goldman Sachs among them. It has raised its year-end 2024 target for the S&P to 5,100 from 4,700. The new forecast represents an 8% increase from 4,740 on Dec. 18. Goldman has a three-month target of 4,800 and a six-month target of 4,900. Don't Miss: Fed meets markets with first hints of '24 rate cuts “This outcome aligns with the scenario where lower inflation and dovish Fed policy allow real yields to fall,” David Kostin, Goldman’s chief U.S. equity strategist, wrote in a report. Year-on-year consumer-price inflation dipped to 3.1% in November from 3.2% in October and 3.7% in September. That “signaled inflation is nearing the Fed’s target” of 2%, Kostin said. “In fact, by some measures the trend is already at or near 2%.”Goldman’s Fed forecast sharper than the Fed's As for the Fed, its officials’ median projection last week called for about 75 basis points of interest-rate reductions next year. Goldman economists went further, predicting 1.25 percentage points of cuts in 2024. Meanwhile, last week’s news that retail sales rose a stronger-than-expected 0.3% in November provided “further evidence of economic resilience,” Kostin said. “And lower-than-expected jobless claims affirmed that the labor market remains healthy.” Initial unemployment claims totaled 202,000 last week, down 19,000 from a week earlier. “Equities were already pricing positive economic activity but now reflect an even more robust outlook,” Kostin said. “Financial conditions have loosened substantially since October and should boost economic activity and company earnings.” Goldman’s new view on the Fed also led it to anticipate a rally in bonds during the first half of next year. Its interest-rate strategists now expect the 10-year Treasury yield will fall to 3.75% in the first of next year from its Dec. 18 level of 3.95%. The call is for a rise to 4% by the end of 2024. *Shoppers describe these bestselling thermal gloves as a 'lifesaver,' and they cost just $14 for a limited time*
TheStreet aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission. As freezing temperatures become more frequent, it’s time to invest in winter gear that can keep you safe and warm throughout the season. With so many popular items on sale before the holidays, there’s no better time to stock up for yourself and your loved ones. The Ihuan Thermal Gloves are currently on sale for just $14 thanks to a limited-time Lightning Deal. There’s no telling how long the discount will last, so we suggest adding a pair or two to your cart ASAP. They are a no.1 Amazon bestseller in the women’s cycling gloves category and over 9,000 pairs have sold in the past 30 days. They’re a top pick among thousands of shoppers who use them for various activities and jobs as well as everyday wear. And hey, they’d make a pretty great stocking stuffer. Courtesy of Amazon These gloves are made of windproof nylon with a waterproof coating and are lined with soft fleece fabric for added warmth. The windproof material combined with fleece and an elastic wristband creates a sealed double barrier for your hands that helps trap body heat and keep out cool air. They also have silicone grippers on the palms and fingers making it easy to complete daily tasks without hassle. What sets them apart from ordinary gloves is they’re touchscreen-compatible in the thumbs and pointer fingers, meaning you can continue to use your phone while wearing them. One shopper claimed they can use their phone and touchscreen PC “without problems” all while keeping their hands warm. Another person described the gloves as a “lifesaver” while on a trip to Seattle and Alaska. “Definitely kept our hands very warm and I never felt too cold,” they said. “Would highly recommend.” A pair of multi-layer winter gloves that keep your hands warm for extended periods and allow you to use your phone without taking them off is a great find just in time for the holidays. While they’re on sale for just $14, you might as well stock up for yourself and as stocking stuffers since they’ll arrive before Christmas if you order right now.
