*Starbucks CEO reveals very surprising favorite coffee order*
The year isn't over yet, but multinational coffee chain Starbucks (SBUX) - Get Free Report is already ushering in some big changes. After Howard Schultz retired as chief executive, returned and then retired again, the cafe brought in Lax Narasimhan, a former PepsiCo exec, as CEO. Related: Starbucks loses a major milestone in this key country Starbucks promptly put Narasimhan in a six-month crash course with baristas so he'd learn from the grounds up how coffee is made at the stores and where the pain points were. One of the biggest pain points has been in the waiting lines. Since the stores reopened postpandemic, those lines have grown. Many folks have grown tired of their coffeemakers at home, and they're more than ready to grab a cup of prepared coffee out and about at their local cafes. Long lines, though, have make the experience chaotic for consumers and crushing for baristas. Starbucks famously is willing to broadly customize every order, and those complicated demands multiplied by high foot traffic equals a rough shift for anyone in the green apron. Narasimhan has been tasked with solving this issue (among many others). So he's been focusing on eliminating redundancies, smoothing the process for both partners (as Starbucks calls its employees) and customers and, of course, brewing good drinks.Starbucks CEO Narasimhan reveals favorite drink In October, following his education with baristas, Narasimhan said he'd be able to prepare the full menu at Starbucks. He said he'd been able to immerse himself in the experience as a partner and has finally been allowed the time to “get really good at coffee.” Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz sits off stage with soon to be Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan and Chairwoman Mellody Hobson during Investor Day at Starbucks HQ in Seattle on Tuesday Sept. 13, 2022. (Melina Mara/The Washington Post via Getty Images) The Washington Post/Getty Images As for his favorite drink, though, Narasimhan doesn't go overboard with fancy orders. “My favorite go-to drink at Starbucks is the Doppio Espresso Macchiato with some hot milk on the side,” he said. View the original article to see embedded media. The Doppio is pretty easy to make at Starbucks, and at home for that matter. "A doppio macchiato is made with two ingredients — a double shot of espresso, with a dollop of steamed milk and a scoop of bubbly milk foam," Starbucks explains on its site. "A doppio macchiato is almost like a regular, traditional espresso macchiato, but it contains some steamed milk and more espresso." And while his day-to-day reliable drink tends to be simple, Narasimhan says he does indulge in the fancy stuff from time to time. He added he was “very amazingly surprised” by Starbucks's whiskey-barrel-aged Guatemalan coffee, which is currently available at Starbucks experimental Roastery stores. “It has no alcohol. It has a cube of ice, and it's a wonderful drink that I've enjoyed deeply," he added. Still, he isn't going overboard. Narasimhan said recently on the "Leadership Next" podcast that he largely avoids caffeine specifically from coffee after 2 p.m. All the better, then, that Starbucks offers a “wonderful range of teas," he said. *I have been asked to give feedback on “Jungkook” as name for White American baby?*
A close friend is having a baby boy soon. You guessed it, she is a diehard BTS fan. As in, took a cash advance on her credit card to see them on tour, diehard. Has multiple BTS tattoos, diehard. She and her boyfriend are as white as they come. This is their first child. My concern is obviously for the child’s quality of life, sense of identity, and comfortability. Only two of us have given negative feedback on the name and were written off as only not liking it because it is Korean/not being current on baby naming culture/understanding the BTS fandom/etc. She is a genuinely close friend and respects my opinion. Her parents are not keen on this name either, she loves and respects her parents. So, she is still weighing our opinions. She has asked me to take a couple weeks to sit with the name and see if, after the newness wears off, I change my mind. She has argued that this singer is a big enough celebrity that everyone (future friends, teachers, employees, etc.) will instinctively know the name. I am not much into pop music so don’t know if this is accurate. Should I be attempting to talk her out of this and if so, how do I approach the conversation in a way that might actually get through? Most importantly, what names could I suggest instead? Thank you in advance. submitted by /u/testcase_sincere to r/namenerds [link] [comments]

*Tips to avoid getting scammed on Cyber Monday*
As soon as American families get up from the dinner table and put away all of the leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner, the holiday shopping season begins. Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Americans are expected to spend billions of dollars on gifts for their loved ones (and themselves) as neither inflation nor high interest rates nor record credit card debt can dampen the Christmas spirit. While Black Friday has been around for decades, Cyber Monday has been a relatively new tradition as online shopping has become more prevalent. And people aren't waiting until Monday to reap the benefits of the savings. Black Friday e-commerce spending rose 7.5% year over year to $9.8 billion in the U.S. alone, an Adobe Analytics report said, according to CNBC, with billions more expected to be spent on Monday. With all of that financial activity focused on online retail there is bound to be online predators looking to scam people to make easy money. The Better Business Bureau says that online scams are happening 33% more often in 2023 vs. 2022. But experts have tips to make sure you aren't a victim. Cyber Monday scams If you check your email inbox right now, chances are you'll see tons of messages from retailers advertising their Cyber Monday deals. While clicking on links in emails from people you don't know is never a good idea, the threat of clicking a link that will lead to a nefarious actor gaining access to your payment information is increased on Cyber Monday. Fake ads and suspicious websites that offer unrealistically low prices are prevalent during the holiday shopping season. There are charity scams featuring people who sell products that claim to support charities, but the merchandise is never delivered. Free trial offers can also be dubious, with consumers reporting incidents where they agree to the terms of the trial — like a minimal investment of shipping fees — before realizing they have agreed to monthly shipments for products $70-$100 each, according to the Better Business Bureau. Counterfeit merchandise is also an old scam that has received new life in the online shopping era and is another potential pitfall for shoppers. Avoid being a victim In order to make your Cyber Monday shopping experience go off without a hitch, industry watchers have a bunch of tips to help you protect yourself. One of the top tips is to pay attention to and avoid false advertising and phony websites. Deals that are too good to be true probably are, and the websites offering these fraudulent deals often have a tell that shows they're phony if you are willing to pay attention to the signs. The BBB is a great resource to check whether your seller is legit or not. Updating your antivirus software will help you avoid websites that are as fake as a three-dollar bill. Make online purchases with your credit card instead of using prepaid debit cards or wiring money. Most credit cards allow users to challenge fraudulent purchases while other options aren't as forgiving. Go to the big names. Online shopping with reputable retailers like Walmart and Target almost guarantees that you won't get scammed. Get exclusive access to portfolio managers and their proven investing strategies with Real Money Pro. Get started now.
