*Beadboard Vs. Wainscoting: Do You Know the Difference?*
It’s one thing to paint the walls or paint the ceilings in your home, but for an added dose of charm, you might consider adding paneling or some kind of wood treatment to your walls. That’s where beadboard comes in. Not only does it add visual interest to any wall, but it’s also relatively durable, inexpensive, paintable, and can be installed at any height for a custom look. Fed pushes back on spring cuts but holds rates steady at 5.25% to 5.5%
The Federal Reserve held its key interest rate steady for a fourth consecutive meeting Wednesday, confirming market forecasts, but the central bank pushed back on the chances of a spring rate cut, warning that inflation remains elevated. The Federal Open Market Committee held its key policy rate at between 5.25% and 5.5%, the highest in 22 years, a move that Wall Street widely expected following the last quarter-point rate hike in July. The timing of any near-term rate cuts was left ambiguous, however, with officials noting a strong labor market, solid economic growth and low unemployment. "The Committee does not expect it will be appropriate to reduce the target range until it has gained greater confidence that inflation is moving sustainably toward 2%," the FOMC said in its regular policy statement. "The Committee would be prepared to adjust the stance of monetary policy as appropriate if risks emerge that could impede the attainment of the Committee's goals."Federal Open Market Committee statement: https://t.co/pmhmWCDMU2 #FOMC— Federal Reserve (@federalreserve) January 31, 2024 U.S. stocks extended declines immediately following the Fed decision and ahead of Chairman Jerome Powell's question-and-answer session with the media. The S&P 500 was marked 44 points lower, or 0.9%, on the session while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 45 points. The tech-focused Nasdaq was marked 232 points, or 1.5%, lower. Benchmark 10-year Treasury note yields rose 3 basis points to 3.981% following the interest rate decision while 2-year notes fell 21 basis points to 4.479%. The U.S. dollar index, meanwhile, gave back most of its declines from earlier in the session and was last marked flat at 103.39 against a basket of six global currency peers.Inflation pressures have notably eased Inflation pressures have eased notably over the past three months, with the Fed's preferred gauge, the PCE Price Index, dipping below the 3% mark for the first time in three years last month. Employment costs, a big drive of wage gains that feed into inflation forecasts, are also slowing, while the level of wage gains earned by job changers fell to the lowest level in two years, according to data from payroll processing group ADP. "The labor market is normalizing after running extremely hot in the last few years," said Bill Adams, chief economist for Comerica Bank in Dallas. "For the Fed, the downshift of private hiring should allay concerns that strong GDP growth in the second half of 2023 might revive inflationary pressures." CME Group's FedWatch is starting to reflect that change, with the odds of a March cut now pegged at 46.7%, but that's down from around 55% prior to the rate decision. The chances of a follow-on cut in May are now trading at 92%, however, and the most optimistic reading for 2024 rate cuts puts the year-end federal funds rate at between 4% and 4.25%, effectively adding two quarter-point reductions from the Fed's forecasts.Related: Veteran fund manager picks favorite stocks for 2024

'Look what you made us do': Airlines add new Swift and Kelce flights ahead of Super Bowl
Even before the games that determined which two teams would be heading to the Super Bowl, some fans were playing absurd amounts of money in order to secure a ticket to see the game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. By mid-January, prices for a round-trip flight to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport during the weekend of Feb. 9 to 11 from anywhere in the country were up 88% from the year before, while a last-minute purchase can easily set one back several thousand dollars on top of the average $10,000 ticket to see the game in person.Related: 2024 Super Bowl ticket prices will blow your mind. In order to meet the increased number of people looking to make it to Las Vegas that weekend, American Airlines (AAL) - Get Free Report upped the number of flights going between Kansas City and Las Vegas to twice a day on Feb. 9 and 10 and another one heading back on Feb. 12 in order for the former's residents to see their home team square off against the San Francisco 49ers. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have emerged as the stars of the 2023-2024 NFL season. Kevin Sabitus/Getty Images Swift and Kelce fans will appreciate the references on these American Airlines flights But the key thing that fans will notice is that the flights going to Las Vegas have been named Flight 1989 while the one returning back to Kansas City is Flight 1987. The latter honors the number on Kansas City's star tight end Travis Kelce's jersey while the former is a reference to the year his girlfriend and star artist Taylor Swift was born and a best-selling album name. After the two confirmed their relationship last fall, Swift has been stealing the show cheering Kelce on at games during the season. More Travel:A new travel term is taking over the internet (and reaching airlines and hotels)The 10 best airline stocks to buy nowAirlines see a new kind of traveler at the front of the plane "You could say that after tonight’s games, we are in our football era, and we are thrilled to provide additional direct flights from Kansas City to Las Vegas," American Airlines said in a statement to the Associated Press. "To our customers who are huge sports fans, look what you made us do."These are some of the other flights launched specifically for the Chiefs-49ers game Meanwhile, a series of other flights is running between Kansas City and Las Vegas. Flight 15 from Kansas City to Las Vegas on Feb. 8 happens to be quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ jersey number, while the return flights on Feb. 12 and 13 have been collectively named Flight 1521 in honor of the jersey numbers of Mahomes and Safety Mike Edwards. United Airlines (UAL) - Get Free Report, in turn, has also dedicated flights between the two cities in this way — Flight UA 1989 is the Swift album and birth year reference while Flight 2287 is a combination of Kelce's jersey number and Swift's hit song "Twenty Two." Flight UA 1587, meanwhile, combines Mahomes' and Kelce's jersey numbers. For those flying in and out of Las Vegas from San Francisco, American Airlines will also offer Flight AA 85 in reference to 49ers tight end George Kittle’s jersey number and Flight AA 262 — quarterback Brock Purdy was the 262nd pick in the National Football League (NFL)'s draft last year, while United has flight UA 1995 for the last year the 49ers won the Super Bowl.

*Frontier passenger from viral pants-dropping moment has been hit with charges*
In November 2023, a passenger aboard a Denver-based Frontier Airlines (FRON) - Get Free Report flight went viral after causing a scene in which she refused to obey the flight attendant's instructions to sit down and then started pushing other travelers and, at one point, made the motion to take her pants off and urinate in the middle of the aisle. The video that one of the other passengers posted on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter that was then reshared by several right-wing influencers was viewed nearly 14 million times. The 60-year-old Dulce Huertas is seen flailing and cursing at both the flight crew and fellow passengers.Related: Woman Banned From United Airlines For Diverting Flight 'Over Wine' The flight was heading from Orlando to Philadelphia and much of the pushing and yelling captured in the video took place after the flight landed. While the incident occurred on Nov. 20, special aircraft jurisdiction authorities have just completed their investigation and charged Huertas with interference with flight crew members and attendants, simple assault, and indecent exposure. The Frontier plane had already landed when the traveler continued causing a scene. Image source: Shutterstock Complaint claims traveler 'resumed her aggressive behavior and pushed passengers out of the way' If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of 21 years in prison, supervised release and a $355,000 fine. The report also claims Huertas used her stomach to bump against a flight attendant who was blocking a door to prevent her from getting out before security could get to the plane and making verbal threats to kill several of the fellow passengers. The incident caused FBI, Federal Air Marshal Service to get involved According to several accounts from those who were present on the flight, the incident began because Huertas was prevented from going to the lavatory because the plane had already begun its descent. In the video, she is heard yelling "I gotta go pee!" and "let me pass, let me pass" before squatting and threatening to urinate then and there. She was, according to the report, served two alcoholic drinks during the flight's beverage service. While the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) investigated the events enough to be able to initiate the charges against Huertas, both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal Air Marshal Service are still conducting their own investigations into the incident. In April 2023, an American Airlines (AAL) - Get Free Report passenger on a flight to New Delhi from New York's JFK made international news after another passenger accused him of getting into an argument and starting to urinate on her mid-flight. Upon landing, he was greeted by local Indian law enforcement. A similar incident occurred a month earlier on another JFK-New Delhi flight in March 2023 and American Airlines banned the passenger from flying with the airline. In both incidents, the travelers were suspected to have been "heavily intoxicated."
