*Airline launched for vacation destination adds two new routes*
Over the last year, a new airline called Bermudair has been working to find its place shuttling those looking to escape the Northeast U.S. winter with a trip to the Caribbean archipelago. While the airline's founders initially hoped to differentiate themselves from other airlines by making every seat on the Embraer E175 (ERJ) - Get Free Report jets it leased business class with armchair-style chairs and free cocktails, it later found the business model unprofitable and announced a "strategic shift" in which it would convert most of the cabin into regular economy seats.Related: Airline building luxury image with all-business seats has change of heart After running both all-business and later the mixed flights between Bermuda's L.F. Wade International Airport from New York's Westchester County, Boston and Fort Lauderdale over the last six months, Bermudair announced that it is ready to expand its coverage to two more East Coast cities: the Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI) serving Baltimore and the D.C. area as well as Orlando International Airport (MCO). Bermuda is a popular winter destination among American sun-seekers. Shutterstock Airline hopes new routes will 'support our continued growth...' "We're satisfied with the overall performance on our existing routes and anticipate that the addition of these new routes will support our continued growth," Bermudair founder and CEO Adam Scott told Travel and Leisure magazine. More Travel:A new travel term is taking over the internet (and reaching airlines and hotels)The 10 best airline stocks to buy nowAirlines see a new kind of traveler at the front of the plane The Baltimore flight to Bermuda's capital of Hamilton will begin running on March 18 while the Orlando one will start a week later on March 26. The latter flight will run once a day on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while the BWI-Bermuda flight will take place on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The Embraer 175 plane used to run the routes will have 14 business seats and 52 economy ones. The same plane will be used to fly from the same cities on different days.Bermudair expanding quickly but more plans are in store To promote the new routes, Bermudair is offering those who book early discounted rates of $99 one-way fares for the flight from the U.S. and $199 for the flight back from Bermuda for what can be a round-trip flight to the island for just under $300 non-inclusive of baggage. To take advantage, one needs to cement travel between Feb. 1 (while the new routes will not be available until March, one can also use the promotion to score a cheap flight from one of the cities the airline already serves) and June 30, 2024 by the end of Jan. 31. There are no "blackout periods" but the dates with the cheapest fares can be found by using the booking calendar on the airline's website. According to Bermudair, this expansion is part of the airline's efforts to grow and become a recognized name. While this will affect business suppliers rather than travelers, Bermudair is also planning to launch cargo flights from Westchester County and Fort Lauderdale after starting to run one from Boston last year (cargo transportation is a common way for airlines serving islands and other out-of-the-way destinations to supplement their income.) "This expansion demonstrates our dedication to meeting our passengers' needs and strategically enhancing our service offerings, based on continual market feedback and evaluation," Scott said further. "It's a significant step that elevates BermudAir to new levels of service and reach."

*State Department warning travelers about this popular vacation destination*
Particularly for sailors and those who take regular cruises, the Bahamas have always been a very popular travel destination. The capital, Nassau, is often both the only international location on a short cruise from Florida and the first stop on a wider tour of the Caribbean islands. To serve the large number of travelers passing through the port, Royal Caribbean (RCL) - Get Free Report is currently in the process of building a new 17-acre development that will essentially function as a private beach club and is slated to open in 2025.Related: 'Rough world out there': The government issues warning about traveling anywhere But while almost everything about Nassau is tailored to sun-seeking tourists, the U.S. State Department recently raised the advisory level for those coming into the country after a string of murders in the capital at the start of the year. Nassau is a very popular stop on a Caribbean cruise. State Department raises Bahamas advisory level, tells travelers to 'be vigilant' "Murders have occurred at all hours including in broad daylight on the streets," the U.S. Embassy in Nassau said in a Jan. 26 alert. "Retaliatory gang violence has been the primary motive in 2024 murders." More Travel:A new travel term is taking over the internet (and reaching airlines and hotels)The 10 best airline stocks to buy nowAirlines see a new kind of traveler at the front of the plane While the level was only raised from "take normal precautions" to "exercise increased caution" (the highest level is a "do not travel" advisory that is reserved for active war zones and authoritarian governments) and most of the violence has been between local gangs, the advisory is meant to draw attention to the fact that crime has been on the rise. Since the start of 2024, there has been a total of 18 murders in Nassau. "The majority of crime occurs on New Providence (Nassau) and Grand Bahama (Freeport) islands," reads the advisory. "[...] Violent crime, such as burglaries, armed robberies, and sexual assaults, occur in both tourist and non-tourist areas. Be vigilant when staying at short-term vacation rental properties where private security companies do not have a presence."Going to the Bahamas? Here are some easy ways to stay safe The State Department also drew attention to those who book short-term rentals, as private residences outside specific developments often lack the kind of security available at major hotels. A level two travel advisory is still considered to be low and that the country is generally safe for visitors. Countries such as France and Italy also have the "exercise increased caution" level due to pickpockets and the risk of terrorism in crowded places while popular vacation destinations such as Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic do as well. The advisory also expands on the regular problems that have arisen over the years for Americans visiting the country due to both the specifics of the local geography and tourist carelessness. The government agency warns that many of the water activities offered on the beach may not be "consistently regulated" while one should also be mindful when running into that clear blue water as there "have been recent fatal and non-fatal incidents involving sharks.” "Always review and heed local weather and marine alerts before engaging in water-based activities," the State Department says while also telling travelers to let a friend or somebody else know when going into the water and always "keep within your fitness and swimming capabilities.”

*What bad actor are you always surprised to see in huge movies?*
While I think he’s a good singer I just can’t stand Harry Styles as an actor. I know he didn’t do many movies, but the ones that I watched were pretty huge, such as Dunkirk and Don’t Worry, Darling. He’s just not good at diving into different characters, expressing emotions and delivering lines. There’s this famous dialogue between him and Florence Pugh in DWD where you can clearly make out the differences in acting between both of them. He should just stick to singing. Another honorable actor is Josh Peck. The only huge movie he’s ever done is Oppenheimer and I was so mad. Out of all talented and aspiring actors you choose HIM?? submitted by /u/TremontRemy to r/movies [link] [comments]
