Why do so many Americans talk about their country like it is a dystopian hellscape on Reddit?

I'm not American but I have visited quite a few times for business trips and once for vacation. My experience with the people there has been lovely. People are so kind and often times will go out of their way to help you. Furthermore, the country has many of the best universities and research institutions in the entire world, has the strongest economy in the world, and their currency is the de facto global currency for trade. And yet when you come to Reddit almost all the Americans you see talk about their country like it is a complete shithole and some kind of totalitarion neo-fascist dystopia where everyone is poor, nobody can pay rent, nobody can buy food, and nobody is happy. I just don't get it. Sure, every place has it's problems, even where I live. But people don't go around shit talking my country constantly.
