Thanksgiving is the Worst

As a woman from a very traditional family with very ingrained stereotypical gender roles, Thanksgiving feels like a punishment. We are expected to cook for days so that we can eat a meal for 30 minutes that we then will clean up while the men go watch the game. It is infuriating and awful every year. I dread it, and know I can't be the only one. The idea of changing anything ANYTHING is heresy. We can't even make a different type of turkey.....much less change who cooks what. I am venting about this to you while my husband and kids are sleeping in. I have been up since 5 AM. Seriously, the only thing I usually feel thankful for is that the next Thanksgiving is 364 days away

Additionally, could you share your age at that time to provide context to your experience with 'The Matrix'? My experience: When I was 8 years old, I vividly remember buying a VHS tape from a supermarket and watching it on our new videorecorder. It was an incredible experience, and I rarely have had such memorable first-time experiences. I didn't understand everything in the movie because English was not my first language. However, the cinematography, especially the action scenes like the rooftop scene and the bulletproof scene, left a lasting impression. I recall at the school playground, everyone tried to recreate the bulletproof scene from the rooftop, unaware that it was CGI. It was impossible, and we often ended up falling on the ground, nearly breaking our backs. What a great time it was—full of innocence, anticipation, and entertainment.
